This is now one of the most popular of the S.C. state parks, Huntington Beach is the site of “Atalaya”, the historic winter home of Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington. The huge stretch of smooth beach and the fresh lagoon provide plenty recreational opportunities. Miles of hiking trails can be found here as well, including a wonderful nature trail near the north end of the beach ending in a jetty. A segment of the East Coast Greenway runs through this park. This part is called the “Bike the Neck Trail” and extends 11 miles from Murrells Inlet to Litchfield Beach.
